We have experimented with Different ways to apply spray foam to flat roofing substrates. Tar and gravel, Tpo, Epdm, and modified Bitumen (BUR), but have found that if we apply foam over another substrate that it leaves room for error because the substrate can fail and cause a leak. We use a 3LB Roofing foam that is denser than the average insulation foam.
