Mini ball valves use an easy design based on a ball or sphere that is ported or drilled out to deliver a flow path for gases and fluids moving via the valve. These ported valve balls are connected to grips that need only a quarter turn to permit full flow or close off the flow, but they are inappropriate for throttling flow.
