The Registrar of Companies (ROC) is a governmental authority which is a part of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). It is responsible for the registration as well as the administration of Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs), under the Companies Act, 2013 and Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008, Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and the Company Secretaries Act, 1980.
