What is the Deep Web?
Unlike the surface web, the deep web is not indexed by standard search engines. Instead, content such as electronic health records, private social media pages, and pay-for-service sites are accessed through specific login credentials and authorization.
There are many services on the dark web, but not all are illegal. Some serve as a safe space for free expression in countries where internet access is criminalized. Others are created for specific purposes, such as law enforcement.
