Founded in 1884 by Charles Freihofer, the son of German immigrants, Freihofer’s Baking Co. began as a small bakery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Charles Freihofer had a deep commitment to using only the finest ingredients, which quickly garnered the bakery a loyal following. In 1913, a momentous event in the company's history unfolded with the construction of the Freihofer Bakery in Lansingburgh, Troy, New York.
