Gia Long Tomb, Mausoleum of the First Emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty

The construction of Gia Long's mausoleum was started from 1814 to 1820, and the location was selected by King Gia Long and supervised the entire construction process. The entire mausoleum is located in a mountain range with 42 hills, large and small mountains and is named after the highest mountain, Dai Thien Tho, which was chosen as a guarding screen.
The entire mausoleum is divided into three areas, including the mausoleum of King Minh Mang and Queen Thua Thien Cao, followed by the Minh Thanh Monument where worshiping the first Emperor and Empress is placed in the center and next. There is a large stele inscribed with the poem "Thanh Duc Phuc Ton" composed by King Minh Mang to honor the Emperor's merits. Gia Long Tomb is an ideal picture of nature and architecture with majestic beauty bestowed by nature.
