The Philosophy Of Sandstone
A clastic sedimentary rock known as sandstone is primarily made up of silicate grains with a size range of 0.0625 to 2 mm. About 20–25% of all sedimentary rocks are sandstones. Because they are the minerals that are most resistant to weathering processes at the Earth's surface, quartz or feldspar (both silicates) make up the majority of sandstone. Sandstone can have any colour due to mineral impurities, just as uncemented sand, however the most frequent hues are tan, brown, yellow, red, grey, pink, white, and black. Some sandstone colours have been closely associated with specific geographical areas because sandstone beds frequently generate highly recognisable cliffs and other topographic features.
